A Major Achievement: Three Professors Named Highly Cited Researchers

Published On: December 2, 2025 Views:

Recently, the globally authoritative academic information agency Clarivate officially released its 2025 list of "Highly Cited Researchers." Our university's Professors Fu Honggang, Tian Chungui, and Xie Ying have been successfully selected onto the list, recognizing their outstanding achievements and international influence in their respective research fields, and demonstrating HLJU's solid strength in cultivating top-tier research talents and fostering academic innovation.

The "Highly Cited Researchers" list selects top global talent with significant academic impact based on citation data from the Web of Science Core Collection and qualitative analysis. The list for this year includes 6,868 researchers (7,131 occurrences) from over 1,300 institutions across 60 countries and regions worldwide. Those selected account for only the top 1‰ of researchers globally, and their research outputs are widely recognized as representing the frontier trends in their respective fields, playing a crucial guiding role in the development of their disciplines.

Within Heilongjiang Province, only researchers from five universities including Harbin Institute of Technology, Heilongjiang University, Northeast Forestry University, Northeast Agricultural University, and Harbin Engineering University were selected, totaling 26 occurrences. The successful inclusion of our three professors not only brings significant academic prestige to the university but also secures an important position within the provincial research landscape. The 2025 list employed enhanced scrutiny mechanisms, specifically addressing issues such as hyper-prolific authorship, excessive self-citation, and anomalous citation patterns, ensuring that the selected researchers meet the highest standards in terms of research impact and academic integrity. The inclusion of our three professors under these stricter criteria further highlights the solid quality and credibility of their research. Moving forward, the university will continue to focus on cutting-edge research directions, deeply cultivate talent development and academic innovation, and contribute more wisdom and strength to regional development and national scientific and technological progress.
